QDC New Annual License Fee 2024
QDC said in a Facebook post outlining the new system that residents with RPs valid for two years can purchase liquor licenses for up to two years. For one year, “The New Charges Start at QR150”. Two years cost QR250, three years QR350, and four years QR400.
“Commencing Jan 2024” the “Qatar Distribution Company” (QDC) will be discontinuing the “1,000 QAR One-Time” deposit requirement and implementing a “New Annual License Fee”.
What is Anual License Fees
License Fees are the minimum financial consideration paid annually by a licensee for “The Right to Use” all of the License Area(s).

New Customer
Upon approval of an application, “New Customers” will be obligated to pay an “Annual License Fee”, calculated on a pro-rata basis, depending on the validity of the “Qatar Residence Permit”. Joint permit cardholders will not incur “Any Additional Fees”.
For the license fee, electronic payments will be “Exclusively Accepted” through “Debit or Credit Cards” at our permit office.
Refunds of Deposit & Renewals
For existing customers with liquor permits due for “Renewal in December 2023,” full deposits will be refunded in cash, while the license fee will be electronically charged through debit or credit cards.
From January 1, 2024, to February 28, 2024, all other customers can claim their full deposit in “Cash and Pay” the license fee based on the current validity of “Their Permit Card.”
Starting March 1, 2024, customers with valid permit cards who haven’t claimed their deposit by the specified period “Will Receive” an automatic refund, deducting the applicable license fee. The remaining balance will be credited to their respective accounts “For Future Shop” purchases on the liquor permit card.
“Once Store Credit is Applied,” cash refunds will be issued only to customers who have canceled their residence permit, subject to providing relevant documents and at the discretion of QDC Management.
Obtaining a QDC License
To obtain a QDC license, “Non-GCC Citizens over 21” with a Qatar Resident Permit must meet specific criteria. “Applicants” need a minimum monthly salary of “QR3,000”, excluding allowances, and should provide a letter from their employer, along with a completed QDC application form. “The License fee is QR150”, valid for one year.
Deposit Claim and Card Expiry
Customers with unclaimed deposits after the specified period and expired cards will be “Retained in QDC Records”.To renew or cancel, visit the QDC permit office. Cash refunds are provided upon cancellation.
Renewal Conditions
If the card is renewed, the deposit is refunded as store credit, minus the license fee. Email renewals are ineffective from “Jan 1, 2024”. In-person renewal with fee payment is mandatory.
Changes in Deposit Policy
QDC replaces the “1,000 QAR” deposit with an annual license fee for new customers.

Ans:- Renewals can only be done with a Qatar ID that has been renewed. Visit qdc.com.qa to renew online or schedule an appointment in person. All of the documentation mentioned in Q2 above is required if the applicant’s circumstances have changed (company, role, salary, accommodation status, etc.).
